A humble attempt at poetry

Im no "Kavi" types, actually a contest at work place made me venture into this undiscovered territory of poetry. For reasons unknown I associate poetry to rhyming words, I have read loads of poems which have absolutely no verbal rhythm but when I actually started off jotting down my own poem, I made a conscious effort of ending each pair of lines with a rhyming word. For this I have got comments like 'you have tried to rhyme the second line with first so much so that the meaning is lost and sounds bit out of context', but this being my first attempt I forgive myself. I only wish after reading this I dont get to hear from you --

"Sweta dont enter this unknown territory,
Please let the poetic community;
Do their duty".

(here is a proof of my compulsive rhyming syndrome). On a serious note, the topic was "Ideal Engineer", & this was my much appreciated entry (couldnt use words like award winning because I dint :(

Munna Bhai- Not a BE but an IE

Munna Bhai broke all convention,
Because he was an engineer by profession,
Without a BE degree to his credit;
But no less than any engineer of merit.
People may call him a mechanic,
But will never deny he is an engineer idealistic.

Munna Bhai was like a black box,
Give him a problem that was complex.
And he would look at you with an expression
Understanding which could be beyond comprehension.
But no matter how complex the question,
He would come up with the simplest solution.

Any problem connected to automobile even remotely,
He would solve it in a jiffy.
The issue could be with the compressor
Or better still the radiator.
Even if it were the piston,
Or the simplest problem with the cotter pin.

Nothing could escape his X-Ray vision,
And his marvellous brain's incision.
He could pin point every malfunction,
For his thought was'nt at superficial function.
Analysis followed the twisting of the spanner,
And final fixing by hitting of hammer.

Our hero also kept himself abreast,
And would never let you down when put to test.
Be it the Common Rail Direct Injection,
Or even teh V-12 Engine.
He enjoyed all this as if it were jive,
Nitrogen booster to the Rear wheel drive.

And that why I call Munna Bhai
Though not a BE he is a IE surely!!
